Inspector I (2nd Shift)

Job Title: Receiving Inspector I – 2nd Shift

The Receiving Inspection position requires skills developed through formal training or work experience. You will work within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach and must complete assigned tasks with a moderate degree of supervision. In this role, you will monitor manufacturing operations to assure that products and services meet the requirements of our quality assurance program, the engineering requirements and the appropriate industry and/or regulatory standards for which the equipment is sanctioned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform basic dimensional and visual inspection of purchased and in-process (OSP) materials
    • Understand work order and engineering Drawings
    • Experienced with API Q1 specifications
    • Well versed in operating common inspection tools to include Calipers, OD & ID Mics, and depth Gages
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent written and Oral skills
  • Visually, and through the use of measuring devices, inspect in-process and finished products to ensure that they satisfy quality standards and industry codes and standards
  • Inspect precision-machined and fabricated parts to ensure conformance to design specifications, including tolerances, physical criteria, etc.
  • Work in partnership with manufacturing management to eliminate the causes of quality problems
  • Identify and label all quality defects; generates GRHs for components, procedures, etc., which do not meet the applicable requirements
  • Be required to perform duties offsite at customer facilities as needed
  • Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities
  • Perform all duties as assigned by management
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret prints / drawings and specifications
  • Ability to work in the shop environment at least 8 to 12 hours per day and weekends
  • Ability and willingness to lift at least 60 lbs.
  • Ability to pass the eye exam requirements of ASNT and be able to drive a forklift and pass an in house test.
  • Requires some problem recognition and solution selection among predetermined alternatives on simple work assignments       
  • Apply a beginner to intermediate level of skill in procedures, techniques, tools, material and or equipment appropriate to the area of specialization.
  • Takes initiative to learn new skills.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years work related experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Certified to operate a forklift.
  • 3+ years of related receiving inspection experience.
  • 3+ years of inventory experience.
  • Experience with Oracle or SAP.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy with numbers.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and order.
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Experience and expertise in multiple areas of warehouse operations including, but not limited to, receiving, stocking, expediting, kitting and cycle counting.
  • Experience in minimum of two of the following, receiving stocking, picking, packing shipping, cycle counting.
  • Demonstrated willingness to complete all tasks to support material handling, warehouse and business objectives.

Additional Information

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Required to use personal protective equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status
  • No relocation assistance
  • 3:00PM – 11:30 PM Monday through Friday (with overtime as required – shift will begin earlier than 3:00AM and/or end later than 11:30PM), some Weekends from 4:00AM – 12:30PM
